Carole Lombard, born Jane Alice Peters, was an American actress best known for her comedic roles. She began her career in silent films in the mid-1920s and gained fame for her roles in the 1930s, including her Academy Award-nominated performance in My Man Godfrey (1936). In 1940, Lombard married actor Clark Gable. With a successful career on the silver screen, Lombard was beloved for her comedic timing and charm. She died in 1942 in an airplane crash over Nevada at the age of 33 while on a tour to promote the sale of war bonds. Through her many performances, Lombard left a lasting impression in the entertainment industry, and her legacy has been celebrated by film fanatics for generations.
