Charley Pride, a world-renowned singer and musician, passed away on December 12th, 2020 at the age of 82. He was a giant in the music industry and a great influence in the world of country music. Born in Sledge, Mississippi in 1938, Charley was the first African-American superstar in country music, becoming a member of the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2000. A gifted vocalist and talented guitar player, Charley was known for hits such as "Kiss An Angel Good Mornin'","Is Anybody Goin' To San Antone" ,and "Honky Tonk Blues". Charley's influence was far reaching, creating the first all-African American country music tour, and selling over 70 million albums throughout his career. He is survived by his wife, Rozene Cohran, poet and songwriter, and their two sons Kraig and Dion. In addition to his family, Charley is also survived by countless music fans around the world who cherish the legacy he left behind.
