Sir David Frost, an iconic British humorist and television host, passed away peacefully at the age of 74 at his home in the UK on August 31st, 2013. In a career that spanned over five decades, Sir David Frost became well-known for his unparalleled interviewing style, quick wit, and charm. As a journalist, he conducted some of the most famous interviews of the twentieth century, including the celebrated interviews with former U.S. president Richard Nixon, for which he won Emmy Awards. He also interviewed other prominent world figures such as John Lennon, Yasser Arafat, Sir Winston Churchill, and the Dalai Lama. As a television host, his legendary programs included That Was The Week That Was, The Frost Report, The David Frost Show, and Frost on Sunday, which all held a special place in British comedy, earning him a Bafta Fellowship in 2006. Sir David provided generous support to the Arts world and various charities throughout his life. He was appointed Commander of the British Empire in 1993, and knighted in 2000 for his "service to journalism". Sir David Frost was an inspiring and influential public figure who will be remembered for his dedication and skill as a journalist and entertainer.
