Burt Reynolds, the charismatic Hollywood actor and an icon of film and television, died on Thursday, September 6th 2018 at 82 years old. Burt Reynolds acted in over 100 films and television shows throughout his career. He was nominated twice for an Oscar, for "Deliverance" in 1973 and for "Boogie Nights" in 1998. He was also nominated five times for an Emmy, winning once in 1991 for his performance in "Evening Shade." Some of his other standout film performances include Smokey and the Bandit, The Cannonball Run, The Longest Yard, and the critically-acclaimed Boogie Nights. On television, he appeared in series such as "Gunsmoke," "The X-Files," and at the end of his career, the popular FX series "Archer." In his personal life, Burt Reynolds was a former football player at Florida State University and coached the team for a year. In addition to acting, he wrote three books, "My Life in Pictures" in 1994, "But Enough About Me" in 2015, and "Burt Reynolds: An Autobiography" in 2015. Burt Reynolds is survived by his son, Quinton. He will be deeply missed by friends and family, both famous and unknown.
