(Name) David Niven, known for his British elegance and charm, passed away on July 29th, 1983, at the age of 73. He found success early on, and was acting in British films as early as 1930, even appearing in a few of Alfred Hitchcock’s early works. But he would become most famous for his portrayal of suave characters in many films such as “Around the World in 80 Days,” “Matter of Life and Death,” and “The Pink Panther.” He won Best Actor at the Academy Awards in 1958 for the classic film "Separate Tables”. He was also known for his celebrated roles as Phileas Fogg in “Around the World in 80 Days,” as well as James Bond’s nemesis Sir James Maudey in “Casino Royale”. A true gentleman, he was much-loved by his peers and fans alike, gained a reputation as one of the true gentlemen of the film industry. David Niven left behind an impressive collection of films and will be remembered for his wit, grace, and sophisticated British style. He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.
