David Ogden Stiers, the actor known for his role as Major Charles Winchester III on the TV show M*A*S*H, died on March 3, 2018, at the age of 75. Stiers was born in Peoria, Illinois, in 1942. He began his acting career in the 1970s, with small roles in TV and film. His big break came in 1982, when he was cast as Major Winchester on the hit show M*A*S*H. He remained on the show until its final episode in 1983. Stiers went on to appear in a variety of TV shows and films over the years, including The Patriot (2000), Weberiders (2001), and Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012). He is survived by his wife, actress Carin Lackey, and their two children.
