Davide Astori, football defender and captain of ACF Fiorentina, died at the age of 31 on Sunday, March 4th, 2018. During his career, Astori made over 200 appearances, most notably winning the 2011-12 Coppa Italia with AS Roma before moving on to help his team, ACF Fiorentina, to two consecutive fourth-place finishes in Serie A. He was also capped 14 times by Italy. Astori is remembered for his loyalty, leadership and professional attitude as well as his grace and humility both on and off the pitch. He leaves a lasting legacy in the memories of all those who knew him and those across the world of football.
