It is with sadness that the family of Doc Holliday, of Griffin, Georgia, announce his passing on November 8, 1887. Doc was 36 years old. Born in Georgia in May 1851, Doc was a high school teacher before studying dentistry, graduating from a prominent school in Philadelphia before returning to Georgia. Doc had a notable career as a gambler, gunfighter and lawman in and around the American West. Doc was known for his friendship with Wyatt Earp and his participation in the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral. He was also one of the participants in the Earp Vendetta Ride of late 1881/early 1882. Doc will be fondly remembered and missed by his family and friends. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude's Children Hospital in his honor.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity. Gilda Radner
