Donald Jay "Don" Rickles, 90, of Los Angeles, California passed away peacefully on April 6, 2017. Don was born in New York City, New York on May 8, 1926. He was a beloved stand-up comedian and actor, best known for his insult comedy. His career spanned six decades, during which he influenced many comedians that followed. He was nicknamed "The Merchant of Venom" for his spontaneous and one-of-a-kind insult humor. Don had an uncanny ability to come up with witty ad-libs in the moment. His performances could be unpredictable, but would often leave audiences in stitches. He often lampooned celebrities during shows. In addition to stand-up comedy, Don had a successful career in television, film and radio. He appeared in numerous films over the years including "Toy Story" (1995), "Casino" (1995) and "Kelly's Heroes" (1970). He was also well-known for playing insulted Talent Agent, "Uncle Irwin" on ABC's "The Don Rickles Show." Don is survived by his wife, Barbara Sklar and his two children, Mindy and Larry. His family, friends and countless fans around the world will miss him dearly. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity organization, The Larry King Cardiac Foundation.
