Dwayne Haskins (July 23, 1997 - April 9, 2022) tragically passed away at the age of 24. A native of Potomac, Maryland, Dwayne was an incredibly talented footballer and was widely regarded as one of the top quarterbacks of his era. Dwayne had a stellar high school football career at Bullis School and was a consensus 5 star recruit coming out of high school. After committing to Ohio State University, Dwayne had a very successful college career, eclipsing records set by legendary Buckeyes quarterbacks such as Troy Smith, Braxton Miller, and J.T. Barrett. He opted to forgo his senior season and declared for the 2019 NFL draft. The Washington Redskins selected him in the first round with the 15th overall pick. In his rookie year, Dwayne started nine games, winning seven, becoming the first Redskins rookie to have a winning record since Eddie LeBaron in 1950. Although his tenure with the Redskins did not last long, Dwayne left a lasting impression on the organization and the fans. Dwayne will always be remembered for his exceptional athletic ability and for being one of the most promising quarterbacks of his generation. He touched the lives of so many, and his legacy will remain in the hearts and minds of those fortunate enough to have known him.
