On September 13, 2019, Eddie Money, 70, died peacefully in his California home. Eddie Money was born Edward Joseph Mahoney on March 21, 1949. He was an American singer-songwriter who turned his musical dreams into reality with classic hits such as "Two Tickets to Paradise," "Shakin," "Take Me Home Tonight," and "Baby Hold On." He formed his own band in the 70s and achieved massive success in the music industry, selling approximately 28 million albums throughout his career and achieving 11 Top 40 hits. In addition to his music career, Eddie Money pursued a successful side career as an actor and appeared on popular TV series such as Soldier of Fortune, Miami Vice, and The Drew Carey Show. He made a documentary called Real Money and was the subject of PBS's Soundstage special. He will be remembered for his passion for music, drive for success, and endearing humor. Eddie is survived by his wife, Laurie, and his five children, Zachary, Joseph, Desmond, Julian, and Jesse. Eddie Money will be greatly missed by friends, family, and fans around the world.
