On October 6th, 1989, Bette Davis passed away at 81 years old. Bette Davis was an Academy Award-winning actress who accumulated over 100 acting credits during her life. Bette Davis was born in 1908 in Massachusetts and, by 1932, had made history as the first recipient of a Best Actress Academy Award for her performance in the film Dangerous. She followed up this success with countless iconic performances in films such as Jezebel, Dark Victory, The Little Foxes, All About Eve, Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, and many more. In recognition of her cinematic contributions, Bette Davis was the first ever recipient of the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award and was renowned for her immediately recognizable voice and standout stage presence. Bette Davis influenced cinema in a way that will never be forgotten. Her amazing ability to craft authentic and powerful characters will always be remembered. She will be greatly missed.
