She was also an accomplished painter, working with diverse media including oil, canvas, wood, and metal. In addition to art, Kahlo was an ardent Communist supporter, a prominent voice in the Mexican muralism movement, and an inspiration to both Mexican and international feminists. Kahlo was known for her groundbreaking work and her pioneering use of the personal narrative in her art. Her body of work includes her 1955 painting "Frida and Diego Riviera", and her 1948 painting "The Two Fridas".
