Gianluca Vialli, a legendary footballer and successful manager of Italian and English football clubs, died on January 6, 2023 at the age of 58. Vialli is widely remembered for his remarkable and prolific international playing career, during which he achieved many successes in both Italy and England. As a player, he spent the majority of his time playing for Sampdoria and Juventus in Italy, and Chelsea in England. With these clubs, he achieved four Serie A titles, two UEFA Cup crowns, three Coppa Italia titles, one Supercoppa Italiana, and a 1989 Cup Winners' Cup. He earned 32 caps for Italy, scoring 8 goals. He then went on to become one of the most successful managers in the history of English football, after being appointed manager of Chelsea in 1998. In his four-year reign at Chelsea, he led the team to two FA Cups and one League Cup. He later managed the national team Watford for one season, and went on to manage Cagliari for three seasons. Vialli will be remembered for his legendary career and legacy, and his presence will be missed by all.
