Greg Lake, 69, died December 7, 2016. He was an English guitarist, singer, songwriter, and producer. He gained fame in the 1960s and 70s as a founding member of the progressive rock groups King Crimson and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Lake began playing guitar at the age of 12 and recorded with King Crimson, during the band's first and second albums, before forming Emerson Lake & Palmer. The band quickly acquired a devoted fan base for their theatrical stage shows and symphonic approach to rock. ELP's hits included "Lucky Man," "From the Beginning," and "Karn Evil 9." Lake also had a successful solo career, with hits such as "I Believe in Father Christmas" and "Kilworth Reel." Along with his musical accomplishments, Lake wrote several critically-acclaimed autobiographies and recently released a comprehensive boxed set containing all of his solo material. At the age of 69, Lake leaves behind a lasting legacy in the world of rock and roll.
