Harry Dean Stanton, esteemed actor of stage, screen, and television, passed away on September 15th, 2017 at the age of 91. Stanton was born in West Irvine, Kentucky in 1926. With a career spanning seven decades, he had over two hundred and fifty credits to his name. His film debut was 1958's Tomahawk Trail, but his breakout role was as a Wise Old Man in the 1984 classic, Paris, Texas. Other notable films included Repo Man, Cool Hand Luke, Pretty In Pink, The Green Mile, Lilo and Stitch, Wild at Heart, Red Dawn, and The Avengers. Some of Stanton's most acclaimed television roles were on Big Love, Deadwood, The X-Files, and Twin Peaks. He also found success in the theatre, starring in a 1985 production of Tracers off-Broadway. Apart from acting, Stanton's love of music was evident in his singing performances, including his 2006 cover of Hank Williams' "Wedding Bells". Stanton was a beloved figure who touched the hearts of all who worked and interacted with him. He will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
