Honor Blackman's illustrious career began in the 1940s, where she was hailed as one of Britain's leading female stage stars. Her most famous role in theater was as the original Catherine in Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire in 1949. For a generation of TV and film fans, she will be remembered best for her roles as Pussy Galore in the James Bond movie "Goldfinger" and Cathy Gale in the hit TV show "The Avengers". Away from the stage and the camera, Honor was an enthusiastic supporter of charities and animal welfare causes.
