He began his career in theater at an early age, appearing in his first role at the age of nine, and later attending the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. Throughout his career, he both acted and wrote on several productions and was regarded as one of the most celebrated character actors of the 20th century. He received an honorary Academy Award in 1990 in recognition for his contribution to film. He will be fondly remembered for his illustrious career in theater, film, and television, as well as for his passionate performances and contagious enthusiasm for the art.

I wanted a perfect ending. Now I’ve learned, the hard way, that some poems don’t rhyme, and some stories don’t have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what’s going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity. Gilda Radner
