John Saxon, an iconic actor known for his work in both film and television, passed away on July 25, 2020 at the age of 83. Saxon was born Carmine Orrico in Brooklyn, New York City, on August 5, 1936. He began his entertainment career in the 1950s, appearing in movies like the musical Rock, Pretty Baby, westerns like Kid Galahad, and military drama The Flying Fontaine. He also starred in the horror classics Black Christmas and Night Of The Werewolf. Saxon had many memorable performances throughout his career. He appeared in The Bamboo Saucer, Enter The Dragon alongside Bruce Lee, and the classic western The Magnificent Seven. On television, he appeared in over fifty shows, including popular shows like The Brady Bunch, The Incredible Hulk, and The A-Team. Saxon was a prolific actor, with a career spanning six decades. He also was an Academy Award nominated producer for A Cat In The Brain. Saxon will be remembered for his larger than life acting style, larger than life performances, and his ability to play a variety of characters. Saxon was predeceased by his wife Marilyn and is survived by his two daughters. He will be greatly missed.
