Jonah Lomu, renowned rugby player and athlete, passed away on November 18 at the age of 40. The world-famous All Black was considered by many to be one of the finest rugby players in history. Jonah was born on May 12, 1975 in Auckland, New Zealand. He was introduced to rugby early in life, playing in high school at Wesley College. In 1994, at the tender age of 19, he debuted in international rugby, playing for New Zealand's national team in the 'Rugby World Cup Sevens'. His impressive speed and size helped him stand out from his peers. From then on, he went on to establish himself as the top New Zealand wing playing. After playing in 63 matches, he retired from international rugby in 2002 due to a debilitating kidney ailment, which he fought for the last decade of his life. Jonah had an indelible impact on the international rugby world. His presence on the pitch made him one of the most beautiful sights in rugby history. His remarkable physical attributes and composure during the game will never be forgotten. Jonah's legacy lives on, not only within the hearts of the New Zealand and rugby communities, but of everyone he touched with his enormous generosity and warmth. He will be missed dearly.
