It is with sadness that we announce the death of Junaid Jamshed, born on September 3rd, 1964 in Karachi, Pakistan, who sadly passed away at the age of 52 on December 7th, 2016. Junaid Jamshed was a Pakistani icon, widely known for his contributions to the music industry and charity work in Pakistan. Junaid began his career in the late 80s as the lead vocalist for the popular rock band Vital Signs, for which he achieved overnight success, and sold millions of albums internationally. After leaving Vital Signs and turning towards a more spiritual path, he embarked on a new journey as the main spokesperson for the religious revival movement in Pakistan. He also broadcast various religious talks and travel shows on different television networks. Through his travels and talks, he deeply touched the hearts and minds of his audience, leaving an immense impact on society. Junaid took a strong stance against extremism in Pakistan, ever advocating for peace. He was widely respected, and was fondly known by all his fans and followers as 'J.J.' He is survived by his wife and three children, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
