Kenny Baker, the English actor known for his iconic role as R2-D2 in the "Star Wars" movie franchise, passed away on August 13th, 2016 at the age of 81. Born Kenneth George Baker on August 24th, 1934 in Birmingham, England, he rose to fame as a performer in variety shows and as an advocate against disability discrimination. Many of his fans know him best as the actor behind the droid R2-D2 in six of the "Star Wars" movies produced between 1977 and 2005. He was a member of the Variety Artistes' Federation, and he's honored by the public showing of his image as a bronze statue of R2-D2 in front of the National Media Museum in Bradford, England. Kenny Baker was an unforgettable icon of the entertainment world. He will be remembered with love and affection.
