Kevin Ferguson, known as Kimbo Slice, died on June 6, 2016 at the age of 42. Born in Nassau, Bahamas, he moved to the United States at the age of 7. He is best known for his street fighting style and his performances in mixed martial arts (MMA) and boxing. Kimbo began to gain popularity in 2003 through his street fights that were recorded and distributed over the internet. His charisma and strength enabled him to become a headliner on the MMA circuit. He won his first 3 professional MMA bouts in 2007, and from there, he had a 5 year career in MMA. He achieved win records of 5-2 in MMA and 7-0 in boxing. Beyond his success in the ring and as a fighter, Kimbo will also be remembered for his inspiring character and warmhearted personality that penetrated far beyond the confines of his fighting career. He will be mourned and fondly remembered by his fans and the MMA community.
