Legendary Hollywood actress Lana Turner has died at age 74 on June 29th, 1995. Born on February 8th, 1921 in Wallace, Idaho, Turner rose to fame in Hollywood in the 1930s and 1940s. She was praised for her beauty and immense talent, which landed her roles in numerous classic films such as ‘The Postman Always Rings Twice’ (1946) and ‘The Bad and the Beautiful’ (1952). In addition to appearing in numerous films, she also made appearances on the Broadway stage, performed in several radio broadcasts, and was featured in several magazine photo spreads. During her career, Turner received many awards and recognitions including a “Star” on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1960. She was also nominated for a Golden Globe award for her performance in “Portrait in Black” (1960). While Turner was an A-list star in the Hollywood film industry, she also lived a life of scandal. Her tumultuous marriages to seven different men included public accusations of abuse and infidelity. Turner's death has been met with shock and sadness by the many fans who admired her iconic movie roles. She will be remembered for her lasting mark on Hollywood cinema, and her amazing talent as an actress.
