Larry Martin Hagman, beloved actor, beloved father, and much-missed friend, passed away peacefully in Dallas, Texas on November 23, 2012 at the age of 81. A graduate of Bard College and veteran of the United States Air Force, Larry starred in theater, film, and television for more than five decades. Most notably, he won legions of fans with his iconic role on the television series "Dallas," as J.R. Ewing. He was nominated for a Golden Globe for his performance in Elvis Presley's movie "Kissin' Cousins," and twice earned Emmy nominations for his work in "I Dream of Jeannie." Larry was an avid art collector, painter, gourmet chef, and world traveler. He also found time to be involved with numerous charitable organizations, and campaigned on behalf of environmental issues. Throughout his life, he was a loyal friend to many, with a famously engaging sense of humor. Often referred to as "the ambassador of fun," Larry will be remembered for his unique ability to transport people to a world of laughter and joy. Larry is survived by his wife, Majorie, sons Preston and Heidi, daughter Kristina, and) seven grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.
