Leslie Grantham, 71, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2018 surrounded by his family. Leslie was born in 1947 in Camberwell, London, to John and Ivy Grantham. He served in the British Army before embarking on a career in television and theater. He was best known worldwide for his decades-long performance as villainous 'Dirty Den' in the long-running BBC soap opera Eastenders. He also appeared on stage in both London's West End and on Broadway. In addition to his professional career, Leslie was an avid writer, photographer, and painter. He was a true polymath who enjoyed and excelled in a wide variety of creative and intellectual pursuits. Though his flame has been extinguished, he will be remembered fondly as a loving father, brother, uncle, and companion. Leslie lived life to its fullest and will be forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew him.
