Marie Colvin, (1956 - 2012), passed away on February 22, 2012, at the age of 56. Born in Oyster Bay, New York to parents Rose and Eugene Colvin, Marie grew up in East Norwich, New York. She graduated from Yale University in 1978 and later attended the law school at University College London. Marie was an acclaimed American journalist who worked for The Sunday Times in London from 1985 until her death. Her career covered major conflicts and humanitarian events around the world. Marie received many awards throughout her lifetime and was celebrated for bravery in reporting from the front lines of conflict zones. Her reports provided a window to the world on the death, destruction, and suffering of war.
