Mira Furlan, beloved actress, campaigner, and humanitarian, passed away peacefully on Wednesday 2021-01-20 aged 65. Mira was born in Zagreb, Croatia and had a long and distinguished career in film and theater in Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the United States. Her film credits include roles in franchises such as “Babylon 5” and “Lost”, as well as numerous independent films and shorts. Most recently, Mira was the lead in the Telegraph’s “Song of Susan”. A passionate advocate for human rights, Mira was an active campaigner for peace and the refugee and children’s charities in her native Croatia. She also served as UNICEF’s ambassador to Croatia. Mira will be remembered for her strong sense of justice, a charitable and giving spirit, her strength of character, her intelligence and wit, and her determination to help those in need. May she rest in peace.
