Muhammad Ali passed away on June 3, 2016 at the age of 74. He was an American professional boxer who was widely recognized as one of the most significant and celebrated figures of the 20th century. Ali started his professional boxing career in 1960 and quickly gained fame as he achieved several heavyweight championships. His remarkable skill and huge personality transformed him into a larger-than-life figure and his nickname, “The Greatest”, ultimately became a reflection of his stunning achievements and worldwide influence. In addition to his excellent boxing career, Ali was an incredibly influential figure off the ring. He devoted his life to activism for social justice and civil rights, earning him two Presidential Freedom Medals in addition to a plethora of other honorary accolades. Ali’s death deeply affects the many fans, fighters and friends who had the honor of crossing paths with him. He will be remembered and celebrated for his tremendous talent, dedication to achieving peace and social justice, as well as his timeless legacy.
