Oswald Mosley, an influential British politician of the 20th century, passed away on December 3, 1980 at the age of 84. Born in London in 1896, Mosley studied at Sandhurst and later served in the 16th The Queen's Lancers in World War I. Following his service, Mosley was elected to the British Parliament in 1918 as a Conservative, transitioning to the Labour Party in 1924. He held various positions in the Labour Government, including Minister of Aviation in 1931, before founding the British Union of Fascists (BUF) in 1932. After leaving the Labour Party, Oswald Mosley was an outspoken figure in British political discourse, becoming well known for his admiration of Benito Mussolini and involvement in public marches and protests. He remained a controversial figure until his death. He is survived by his wife Lady Cynthia Mosley and his five children, among other family and friends.
