Pat Hingle, beloved actor and father, passed away on January 3rd, 2009 at the age of 84. Born Martin Patterson Hingle on July 19th, 1924, in Miami, Florida, Hingle attended the University of Texas. He was drafted into the Navy after graduating and served in World War II, before attending Columbia University’s school of Drama. Hingle had a long and successful career in both stage and screen. He appeared in over 100 different films and television shows, resting his most well-known roles as Comissioner Gordon in the Batman films, Judge Clinton T. Jordon in Norma Rae, and Fred Lyman in Splendor in The Grass. Hingle is survived by his children, Carey, Nina, and Iyan. He will be remembered fondly by his family and friends.
