Pernell Roberts, a beloved actor and musician, has passed away at the age of 81 on January 24, 2010. Born on May 18, 1928, in Waycross, Georgia, Roberts was best known for his role as Adam “Pa” Cartwright in the long-running western drama, “Bonanza” which ran from 1959–1973. He later went on to star in the hit TV show, “Trapper John, M.D.” from 1979–1986. Aside from his extensive television work, Roberts was widely known for his musical talent, having performed on Broadway in “Camelot” and the Off-Broadway production of “Lost in the Stars”. He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Criswell Roberts, his three children, and grandchildren. He will be remembered for his rich contribution to the arts and for his talented work on the small and large screens alike.
