It is with great sadness and shock that we announce the sudden passing of Peter Maivia. He passed away peacefully on June 13th, 1982 at the age of 45. Born in Samoa, Peter moved to San Francisco, California as a young man and eventually settled in Honolulu, Hawaii. Throughout his life, he was an accomplished wrestler, trainer, and promoter. He was highly respected in the wrestling world, widely admired for his courage and determination. Peter Maivia was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be deeply missed. He is survived by his wife Ata Maivia, their daughter Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), and numerous family members and friends. May he rest in peace.
