She attended the Old Vic Theatre School and went on to perform in numerous theatrical productions. Her breakthrough role came in 1962 when she starred in the West End production of "The Merry Wives of Windsor." Prunella's career expanded into film and television in the 1960s, where she quickly became a household name. She appeared in various popular British TV series, including "Fawlty Towers" and "Mapp and Lucia." Her talent and versatility as an actress earned her critical acclaim and a loyal fan base. Aside from her acting career, Prunella was also an advocate for mental health awareness, using her platform to bring attention to the importance of destigmatizing mental illness. She was vocal about her own struggles with bipolar disorder and was praised for her bravery in speaking openly about it.
