René Angélil, a Canadian icon, renowned artist manager, and husband to beloved singer Celine Dion, passed away on January 14, 2016 at the age of 73. He will be remembered for his great accomplishments in the entertainment industry as well as for his unconditional support towards his wife's music career. Ahead of starting his career, Angélil was an accomplished recording artist in his own right, being involved in French-language albums and having a top ten single in his native Quebec. He then moved on to become a highly successful manager for internationally renowned artists, working with Anil Murray and Gino Vannelli before finding crossover success with Dion. Under his guidance, Dion became one of the most successful solo artists of all time, winning several awards and accolades including five Grammy's and seven Juno Awards. His death marks the loss of an influential figure in music history. Angélil's dedication and passion for music will be remembered by many far and wide.
