It is with great sorrow that we announce the death of Robert Ford, who passed away on June 8, 1892 at the age of 30. Robert Ford was born in 1862 and was raised in Missouri. He was an American outlaw who was best known for his association with Jesse James and the James-Younger gang. He was active in several criminal enterprises, and eventually earned the nickname "The Little Arch Angel of Death" for his alleged involvement in Jesse James' murder in 1882. Robert Ford served a life sentence in prison for his connection to the James-Younger gang and for Jesse James's murder. He was pardoned in 1885, and led a successful career in show business after his release, touring with his brother Charley to recount their days with the gang. He is survived by his brothers Charley and Ed and his parents. Robert Ford will be remembered fondly for his involvement in the James-Younger gang and for his life of crime and adventure.
When we finally know we are dying, and all other sentient beings are dying with us, we start to have a burning, almost heartbreaking sense of the fragility and preciousness of each moment and each being, and from this can grow a deep, clear, limitless compassion for all beings. Sogyal Rinpoche
