Robert Vaughn, beloved actor, has passed away on November 11th, 2016, at the age of 83. Robert Vaughn was best known for his role as Napoleon Solo in the 1960s television show The Man from U.N.C.L.E. After he gained attention for his charismatic portrayal of Solo on the show, he starred in many films and other television shows throughout his career such as The Magnificent Seven, Bullitt, and the Moneychangers. He not only acted in television shows and movies, but also had many stage credits in Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater productions. He was a defining actor of this golden age, winning multiple awards such as the Golden Globe for Most Promising Male Newcomer, and the Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Special. The actor was born in New York City in 1932. Before pursuing acting, he attended the University of Minnesota, Northwestern University, and London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. Before his passing, he was a fervent supporter of animal rights, and had volunteered for animal welfare organization PETA. Robert Vaughn's legacy will live on in his many remarkable performances and good deeds.
