The life of Harshad Mehta, an Indian stockbroker, businessman, and investor, ended on December 31, 2001. He was 48 years old. Born on August 29, 1953, Harshad was a prominent figure in the Indian financial market, and is widely considered the driving force behind the tiny but fast-growing Indian stock market. He made his wealth by investing in Indian stocks, eventually becoming one of the most prominent Indian investors of the 1990s. Known for his ambition, enthusiasm, and strong political connections, Harshad earned immense success in the stock market and made millions from the booming Indian stock market. Unfortunately, his success was eventually overshadowed by scandal and accusations of massive fraud, resulting in what some consider India's biggest financial scandal ever. Harshad passed away after a long and eventful career. He will be remembered for his ambition and entrepreneurial spirit, and his contributions to the Indian stock market. He leaves behind a legacy of success and a future of possibility for the Indian financial market.
