American actor Slim Pickens passed away on December 8th 1983 at the age of 64. He was born on June 29th 1919 as an American cowboy and rodeo performer. Slim had a successful career in film mainly playing comedic roles that included military, working-class cowboy characters. He appeared in many films such as Dr. Strangelove, Blazing Saddles, and 1941. He had an iconic style in his film roles which helped differentiate him from other actors. Slim was also a successful television actor and voice artist, appearing in programs such as "The Monkees", "Alias Smith and Jones" and "The Wild Wild West". He also provided voices for animated television series, including "The Ren & Stimpy Show" and "Mighty Mouse". He was married to Margaret Fallon in 1944 and had 4 children. Slim Pickens will be remembered for his exceptional performances in films and television series that made him an icon of American culture. He was beloved by fans and will be greatly missed.
