Stella Tennant, a critically acclaimed British model and designer, passed away peacefully at the age of 50 on Thursday, December 22. Stella made her mark on the international fashion industry more than 25 years ago when she became a muse for leading fashion houses, including Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel, Helmut Lang, and Alexander McQueen. She was an inspirational figure for a generation of young models and was known for her distinctive style and grace. Throughout her career in fashion, Stella was a trailblazer and role model for diversity and inclusivity in the industry. A noblewoman and a descendant of the “Duke of Devonshire,” her patrician origins led to Stella appearing in fashion campaigns of biggest fashion brands, including Louis Vuitton Dior,TOPSHOP,Ermanno Scervino and many more. She appeared in major advertising campaigns for luxury fashion for decades. In addition, Stella designed a Fashion Capsule Collection for THE OUTNET. Outside of fashion, Stella was an advocate for the rural landscape she called home in Scotland. She was passionate about supporting climate education and worked to promote sustainable farm-based food and the restoration of natural habitats. Her energy and enthusiasm will be deeply missed by friends, family, and colleagues.
