Verna Bloom, 80, passed away on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019. Born in 1939, Verna had a long, fulfilling life; she graduated from her hometown university after majoring in journalism in 1971 and went on to have a successful career as an editor for multiple nonprofit organizations over the years. She was an avid animal rights activist and worked with her local humane society for years on end. In her free time, Verna enjoyed knitting, playing chess and traveling, often taking frequent breaks from work to visit her grandchildren. Verna was a beloved grandmother, mother, and friend. She is survived by 3 children, 7 grandchildren, and her husband of 45 years. Verna will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her causes, her knack for storytelling, and her love for her family.
