Legendary singer-songwriter Warren Zevon passed away on September 7th, 2003, at the age of 56. Zevon was an American singer, musician, songwriter, and record producer with a career spanning five decades. He began his career as a musician in the early 1960s, producing several iconic songs, before gaining mainstream success in the late 1970s as a leader of the punk and new wave movements. He was involved in different rock, folk, and blues projects throughout his career, and his music gained both critical and popular acclaim. Zevon was known for his dark and often humorous lyrics, as well as his refusal to shy away from topics deemed taboo in popular culture at the time. Zevon was known for hits such as "Werewolves of London" and "Lawyers, Guns and Money," as well as collaborations with fellow artists such as Jackson Browne, Linda Ronstadt, and David Lindley. He was nominated for two Grammy Awards, and his music has been featured in popular films and television shows such as The Big Lebowski, The Office, and Friends. Zevon will be remembered for his unique contributions to the music industry, as well as his bold and honest songwriting. He will be sorely missed by his fans around the world.
