Anne Rice, author of celebrated novels such as Interview With the Vampire and The Mummy, died at the age of 80 on 2021-12-11. Ms. Rice, born in 1941, began her renowned career as a writer in the late 1960s. Her writing style was particularly admired for its poetic format, vivid imagination, and its ability to convey strong emotions. In 1976, Ms. Rice released her first novel, Interview With The Vampire, and it quickly became an international bestseller. This began a series of books known as "The Vampire Chronicles," which includes many of Ms. Rice’s beloved works, such as The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, and The Tale of the Body Thief. In addition to her larger works, Ms. Rice was also known for her novella, Beauty’s Release, the offshoot of her famous novel, Beauty’s Punishment. Ms. Rice explored a variety of subjects in her works, including witches, werewolves, and ancient Egyptian mythology. Outside of her written works, Ms. Rice was an active member of the New thought community. She and her late husband Stan co-founded the Anne Rice Information Center, a website dedicated to the author’s numerous works and activities. Ms. Rice will be remembered for her vivid imagination and ability to transport her readers to the universes she created. Her works will continue to live on and bring joy and inspiration to generations of fans.
