American author and journalist Rose Wilder Lane (b. December 5, 1886 d. October 30, 1968) passed away on Wednesday, October 30 at the age of 81. Lane was born in Missouri, but later called Danbury, Connecticut her home. She graduated from HMS and went on to have a long and successful career as an author and journalist. As daughter of Laura Ingalls Wilder, she wrote a number of books, which included Let the Hurricane Roar, from 1932, and a series on the American Revolution as well as The Discovery of Freedom and Freedom and Federalism. In addition to her own works, Lane was an instrumental figure in helping her mother to publish her Little House on the Prairie series. She is survived by her husband, John Lane, and her legacy endures both through her literary works and through her advocacy for increased libertarian ideas.
