Blake Edwards, four-time Oscar-nominated screenwriter and producer, has died at the age of 88. Edwards was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1922. He formed a creative partnership with his beloved wife, actress Julie Andrews, working together on seven films. Edwards began his career as a writer on radio and in television before moving to the big screen. In more than 40 years of filmmaking, he wrote and directed dozens of memorable films including "Breakfast at Tiffany's," "Days of Wine and Roses" and the "Pink Panther" franchise which spawned six successful films. He earned four Oscar-nominations for his screenwriting work, the latest being for the 1982 romantic comedy "Victor/Victoria." He is survived by his wife, daughter, two grandchildren, and sister. Services will be held at a later date.
