Carrie Hamilton, 38, passed away on January 20, 2002, following a long illness. Ms. Hamilton was born in Louisiana, where she lived for most of her life. She was an exceptionally talented singer and actress. She performed in numerous theater and cabaret shows and went on to achieve great success as a writer and television producer. Ms. Hamilton's local fame skyrocketed when she was cast in the television movie "Purple State of Mind," playing the role of the lead character.
