Carwood Lipton, 81, died peacefully from natural causes on December 16, 2001. Lipton was born in Middlebrook, West Virginia in 1920. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Army in 1942 and served in the 101st Airborne Division during World War II. Lipton was a decorated war veteran, with a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. After the war, he earned a degree in industrial engineering and became a successful salesman, travelling the world. Lipton was an active member in his community, and was involved in various Masonic organizations. He was an avid golfer, who continued to play up to his last days. He is survived by his wife Louise, his 4 children, and 11 grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and sense of humour.
