Best known for his professional wrestling career, Hennig was a highly decorated athlete in the sport, earning the World Wrestling Federation's Intercontinental Championship twice and the World Championship Wrestling's United States Championship. He was also a United States Tag Team Champion and celebrated as a wrestling legend in the Hall of Fame. Off the mat, Hennig was a loving husband, father, and son as well as an avid outdoorsman.
