Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart, one of pro wrestling's most beloved figures, passed away on August 13, 2018 at the age of 63. He was also known as James Henry Neidhart or James Neidhart, to his friends. Born in Tampa, Florida in 1955, Neidhart was a three-sport star in high school, excelling at wrestling, football and track. He was an all-state selection in wrestling and football, and went on to have an extensive football career, winning national championships with the Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys. In 1979, Neidhart began his professional wrestling career, training alongside his close friend, Bret Hart. Neidhart and Hart formed a tag team dubbed "The Hart Foundation," and they went on to become one of the most celebrated duos in wrestling history, winning multiple championships and becoming fan favorites. Neidhart's signature signature move, the "Anvil Drop" was popular with fans around the world. Neidhart also appeared in several movies and television shows, most memorably playing the role of Hank the Muscle Man in the 1994 cult classic film, Mystery Men. Neidhart's family was a vital part of his life, and he, his wife Ellie, and their two daughters will be greatly missed. He is also survived by his father, brother and sister.
