David Duerson, 50, of Chicago, Illinois passed away on February 17, 2011. Duerson was a four-time pro bowler and two-time Super Bowl champion during his 11-season career in the National Football League (NFL). After being drafted by the Chicago Bears in 1983, he went on to play for the New York Giants and Phoenix Cardinals. He was a safety, known for his hard-hitting style of play. Off the field, Duerson was the founder and president of Duerson Foods, LLC, a former co-chairman of the NFL Player Care Foundation, and an active member of the NFL retirement board. Duerson is survived by his wife Melanie, his two sons Tregg and Trever, his brother Larry, and his parents Virginia and William.
